Eligibility for Tourist Visa

Tourist visas are granted to foreigners whose sole objective is recreational, sightseeing, casual visits to meet friends or relatives, etc. No other activities are permissible on a tourist visa.

A tourist visa can be granted for a period not exceeding 5 years with multiple entries. The stay during each visit shall not exceed 180 days.

Nationals of certain countries may have specific visa stipulations, and it’s advisable to check with the respective Indian consulate/embassy.

In Case of Urgent Requests

The Indian Missions/Posts may provide a visa for travel within 48 hours of application in urgent scenarios.
